COMPUTER-AIDED EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT

The production installations of the paper industry require permanent reliability. Possibilities are pointed out to those in charge of production plant, i.e. papermakers, technicians, operatives and maintenance personnel, how they may in future be able to do justice to the steadily increasing demands put upon them. The concept of computer aided equipment management consists of a combination of modern processors with increased inclusion of the capacities of their manufacturers. These modern processors should give the on-machine operators speedy information on the construction, operation, condition and maintenance of the installations and should support the production process by computer programs. When working on problem-solving the processor manufacturer should make his knowledge-potential available to the user via new paths of communication.
