PROTECTION OF CULTURAL PROPERTY OF THE RUSIAN FEDERATION WITH CRIMINAL LAW MEANS

The Federal Law of 23.07.2013, no. 245-FZ " On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation regarding the suppression of illegal activity in the field of archeology" marked a further improvement of Russian legislation in the field of cultural values of peoples of Russia. In connection with (the Act), entering the force have been made changes to a number of legal acts, including the Criminal Code. The purpose of this article is to identify the main trends of legislative innovations in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. To achieve this objective, the following measures are assumed: to analyze the changes made to the above-mentioned Federal Law, to systematize the items designated as "cultural values" and to identify possible difficulties of interpretation and application of criminal law related to the protection of cultural property, to give a general characteristics to the criminal law connected to protection of cultural values; to mark the prospects for further improvement of the criminal law in the protection of cultural property.
