Spatial distribution and characterization of the main elements of the logistic system in Asturias

This paper analyses the key elements in the freight transportation system in Asturias, linking them to the regional structure production, and describing their aim features. This system constitutes a weave, more or less integrated, that arranges the territory and it is one of the strategic elements for the Spain's external competitiveness. This physical complex that organizes all the flows is configured as a competitive device through which the territorial unit is related to others of equal rank and to the large flows of the global economy by the connection and negotiation with the major economic and geographical officers.
