THE OCCURRENCE OF LISTERIA-MONOCYTOGENES IN GOAT AND SHEEP MILK

In order to determine the prevalence of L. monocytogenes, we have examined 77 samples of goat milk from five farms, 152 samples of sheep milk from six farms, 6 samples of silage, 2 samples of hay and one sample of en silaed corn grain. L. monocytogenes was isolated from 7,78 % of the samples of goat milk, 1,90 % of the samples of sheep milk and all silage samples. L. monocytogenes was isolated of the same time from goat milk, sheep milk and silage which indicated a mutual connection between of the finding of L. monocytogenes in milk, and silage feeding of goats and sheep.
