THE SENSE OF THE HISTORY AND HISTORICAL FACT IN PHILOSOPHICAL REASONING

This paper presents a reflection on the relation between philosophy and history. It uses the contributions of author as Ortega and Gasset, Carr, Russel and Jaspers in order to show the impossibility of thinking history since a simple factorial perspective, which only considers the historical fact as a neutral event. The author argues that history can't be extracted from a social context in which a mentality is implicated and, therefore, the possibility of interpretation; the history should be understood as the result of a great deal of socially- built interpretations. As well, it shows that the historical event is the motor of the philosophical reasoning.
