Design and Performance Analysis of a Series-Parallel Resonant Converter for Contactless Electrical Energy Transmission

摘要
Contactless electrical energy transmission (C.E.E.T) is a manner of electrical energy transmission with no physical contact between the power supply and the load. The resonant converter is one of the most suitable converters for the C.E.E.T. This paper summarises the design procedure of a series-parallel resonant converter used to supply a (24V-50A) battery charger via a contactless transformer having a 1 cm air-gap. A combined frequency and time domain simulation method for studying the resonant converter is presented. The method allows to predict the real behaviour of the converter and to choose the operating frequency, thus permitting to carry out practical non-destructive tests on the real prototype of the battery charger. Experimental results are presented to show the good performances of our analyses.
