摘要
The excitation mechanism for a struck string requires that, in addition to the purely excitational forces, there are also reactive forces which lead to the frequency shifting of the Fourier components. This is called "bow pressure dispersion". This effect occurs for the low strings of all stringed instruments when high order modes are excited by playing with a string bow pressure. It is presumed that bow pressure dispersion is an important reason for the bad sound quality of the low string in low-pitched stringed instruments.
