摘要
A new method for inverting matrices was recently discovered by Victor Pan of the Computer Science Department of the State University of New York at Albany and John Reif of the Aiken Computation Laboratory at Harvard. Their main concern was with parallel processing, but the mathematical algorithms they propose work perfectly well with serial processing. As a test of this method several dense (all entries nonzero) random-number-entry matrices of the maximum dimension 60 by 60 inversion in total times varying from 15 to 24 hours.
