AVAILABILITY RELIABILITY-DESIGN AND EVALUATION SYSTEM FOR NETWORK (ARDES-NET)

This paper describes the software tool ARDES-NET (Availability Reliability Design and Evaluation System for NETworks) which is used to support the reliability evaluation and design of telecommunication networks. ARDES-NET can evaluate reliability models of telecommunication networks which have following features: (1) Common-cause failure of elements (2) Capacity of network (3) Path limitations by routing control ARDES-NET is also a user-friendly software tool because a commercially based CAD (computer assisted design) system is used for its man-machine interface. These features allow quick and effective reliability evaluation and design for telecommunication networks.
