摘要
The effect of aerated stagnant solution of mono-, di-, and trichloroacetic acids on the corrosion behaviour of low carbon steel at different pH values from 1 to 4 and at concentrations of 2.0 to 10(-5) M has been studied. In the range of 2.0-10(-5) M solutions, the corrosion rate (W) increased with decreasing acid concentration and decreased with increasing pH value from 1 to 4. At high concentrations 2.0 M and in the pH range 1-3, the steady state corrosion potential shifted in the noble direction accompained by a decrease in the corrosion rate. In dilute solutions (10(-2)-10(-5) M), the steady state potential shifted to more active direction accompained by increase in the corrosion rate.
