Ethnological objects in magazines of museums are often treated with biocide substances against insect or fungal attacks. The Bremer Umweltinstitut analysed the indoor air and the indoor dust from the magazine of the Uberseemuseum Bremen for these substances. Many treatments with such substances were done during the fifties, sixties and seventies. The question is, which of these substances are still detectable. The following contribution shows the result of this investigation. Probably this problem is interesting for other museums too.
