Impact of innovation on the performance of construction companies: an empirical study in Spain

摘要
The objective of this article is to verify empirically the relationship between the degree of innovation of the construction companies and its performance. The research was conducted through a study with 94 firms of the Spanish Construction Sector. The findings show that innovation in products, processes and management has a positive influence on the performance of the company. In this sense, it is confirmed innovation as a means to gain a sustainable competitive advantage. This study may be of interest to entrepreneurs because in this sector in particular there is a need to innovate in order to promote their survival and improve their competitiveness, and for public administration in its role as promoter of economic activity, growth and competitiveness of the Spanish economy through programs promoting innovation.
