New aspects in geothermal energy generation

The irreversible burdening of the atmosphere with greenhouse gases as well as the scarcity of fossil resources by worldwide simultaneously rising demand for fossil oil, coal and natural gas, are a challenge for our society. Geothermics will play an important role as renewable energy form in future energy systems. Used in decentralized energy systems, the installation of terrestrial heat systems needs an exact set-up of all heating and building components. In the field of geothermic power generation the task is similar as the setup of the power station has to be adapted to the boundary conditions of each location. Geothermic power generation has a potential for expansion, however, the real extent of new build will depend on "regional'' economic conditions.
