Is a latin american integration possible?

This article aims to discuss the possibility of a Latin American integration, and for that reason the article is divided into three parts. The first section describes the difficulties that Latin America has had in terms of integration, beginning with the issue of its name: What do we call ourselves? The second part looks at the possibilities of integration. The third part looks in more detail at one of these possibilities: that of the World Social Forum and in particular the American branch of this. The proposal is mentioned by the Argentinian thinker Walter Mignolo in his theoretical reflections. Throughout the article, reference is made to different Latin American thinkers, such as: Carlos Fuentes, Octavio Paz, Mario Vargas Llosa, Mario Benedetti, Walter Mignolo, and Nestor Garcia Canclini among others, who in their writings allow one to glimpse the viability of a Latin American integration, but also one in which other worlds are possible, worlds different to marginalisation and poverty; an integration that takes into account our diverse origins, our past, and also our future; an integration that brings together indigenous, black, creole, and mestizo people, and European and Asian immigrants.
