Phenomenology as Theory of Knowledge: Husserl on Epoche and Neutrality Modification

This article argues that the notions of Epoche and Neutrality Modification, despite their apparent similarities, must remain radically differentiated. The reason is that both arise within consciousness operations that are methodological and hierarchically distinct. To accomplish this, I will give a description of their functions and structure, so that both their respective fields of application as well as the operational scope of their procedures become visible.
