Redefining qualitative methodological work with children: the use of the group interview applied to the study of technology

Infantile population has not been a target in sociological research. Children are not usually seen as observation units or capable agents. We show in this text how useful the group interview is to analyse children's speech. The utility of group interview is a central aspect when we try to avoid the risk of adultcentrism in the analysis. This utility is shown via a real case of study: the impact of new technologies in children's social life. We conclude that group interview constitutes a valuable instrument to understand children's world taking children's speech as an starting point, and it results highly recommended to find latent aspects of child behaviour.
