Regiospecific reductive ring cleavage was accomplished in the reaction of N-alpha-methylbenzyl substituted aziridine-2-carboxylate and aziridine-2-methanol under a catalytic hydrogenation condition, The regiospecificity was determined by the substituent at C-2.
