摘要
There are presented results of big lab tests of the SO2 to SO3 oxidation process at pressure from 0,1 to 1,1 MPa in presence of a vanadium catalyst. For selected ring and cylindrical catalysts, the influence of pressure increase on the actual reaction rate has been tested. Application of elevated pressure lowered eight-fold the catalyst consumption in a contact reactor. Hydraulic resistance of catalysts has been measured. There has been developed a relationship between the resistance value of the catalyst layer (ring and cylindrical) and gas flow parameters at elevated pressure. These tests were an important stage of the contact unit development of the sulfuric acid from sulfur production by the double conversion method at pressure of 1,1 MPa.
