摘要
Poly(L-leucine) is a polymer of natural amino acid. Since this polymer offers some advantages in biomedical, biodegrable and non-toxic properties, it has become a very important component of temporary wound dressings. Without any initiator Poly(L-leucine) has been made in the solid state by irradiation with gamma-ray for about 1.3kGy dose. The polymerization yield is close to 100%. The possible mechanism for the polymerization of poly(L-leucine) could be depicted by IR, H-1 NMR and C-13 NMR spectra. Since there is no initiator in the process of synthesis of this polymer by radiation, No toxic residue, as in the thermal process, can be found. It is concluded in this paper that radiation synthesis of poly(L-leucine) is a high yield, safe, simple and convenient method.
