BEING A VICTIM IN THE CONTEXT OF COLOMBIAN ARMED CONFLICT AND THE PROBLEM OF RESPONSIBILITY

This paper offers a critical approach to the complex political and social situations in which the victims are immersed in the context of the Colombian armed conflict. It explains how, despite the legal recognition, the social recognition of their status as victim's is not achieved and, in many cases, the victim's status is exploited following different interests. Subsequently, we analyze the problem of responsibility from different perspectives; starting by thinking the notion of responsibility in the frame of political liberalism. We expose how this tradition is insufficient to incorporate an ethical reflection off the conditions and demands of the victims and we propose a notion of responsibility regarding the vulnerability and suffering of the victims.
