摘要
Technologies of the Information and Comunicacao (TIC) are each time more gifts in the basic education, generating many interrogations. With it disciplines of Geography is not different. These research presented here has objective of to understand the challenges that the TIC cause in the Geography education, identifying the implications and possibilities to improve it. The methodology followed the parameters of the empirical research, with focus in the relations between the technology and the geography education in the school. The results had disclosed that the geography education coexists three challenges, which exceed the necessity of rooms of computers and connection with the Internet. They are specific actions to be assumed for the teacher of Geography, as to construct with the pupil geographic knowledge concerning the implications of the global world on the local space, in the perspective of the formation of critical citizens. Another challenge is to incorporate the TIC to the daily one of the lessons, in order to explore the technologies in what they can contribute for the Geography education. Most difficult of the challenges it is to use the TIC to construct geographic knowledge on the global world. Each challenge identified in the research, however, excites others, whose study it can point new perspectives of use of the TIC in the schools.
