CURRENT DEVELOPMENTS AND FUTURE CHALLENGES FOR PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT IN CHILE

We describe the current situation of psychological assessment in Chile, in the context of the.. major historical landmarks of Chilean psychology. There is a review of the academic, professional practice and current research considering the field of psychological assessment. Through this revision, in spite of the need to use appropriate instruments, large flaws are detected in both the academic and professional training of psychologists, as in the general regulation of the profession, affecting the assessment area and psychometrics. Among the challenges are the regulation of formation in psychological assessment and psychometrics, the study and evaluation of psychological tools to be used professionally and establishing working groups and research's teams to ensure compliance with the task described above.
