摘要
The feasibility of in situ synthesis of various beta-and alpha/beta-SiAIONs by a combustion technique at elevated nitrogen pressures is demonstrated. The effect of reactant composition, particle morphology, and initial solid-phase dilution on final conversion and product-phase homogeneity has been studied in detail. The optimum reaction conditions are proposed. Details on microstructure, microhardness, and fracture toughness of pressure-less sintered beta- and alpha/beta-SiAIONs are also presented.
