摘要
Experiments investigating the way in which natural phytoplankton cells affect the composition of dissolved free amino acids in sea water are described. Evidence is presented which demonstrates an active release of amino acids by two living phytoplankton species into the environment. A similar process is not caused by dead cells of the same species. © 1995.
