摘要
On the present study, the effects of audoine on rat brain NOS activity were investigated by measuring nitrite and nitrate formation. Audoine inhibited NOS activity in a competitive (Ki=0.644 muM) and partially uncompetitive (Ki=15.6 muM) manner. Audoine was not substituted the guanidino nitrogen of, though most of known NOS inhibitors were synthesized by substituting the guanidino nitrogen of arginine (Arg). Audoine is found to be a different type of NOS inhibitor and should be useful to investigate the chemical nature of NOS and the roles of NO in the central nervous system.
