ELECTROCHEMICAL-BEHAVIOR OF GUANINE AND ITS DETERMINATION BY DIFFERENTIAL-PULSE ADSORPTION STRIPPING VOLTAMMETRY

摘要
A sensitive method for the determination of nanomolar concentrations of guanine in a medium of 0.02 M NaHCO3-0.06 M Na2SO4 by differential pulse adsorption cathodic stripping voltammetry has been developed. The limit of detection is 3 × 10-10M guanine. In the presence of 10-fold guanosine (at a concentration of 2 × 10-7M) ca. 2 × 10-9M guanine can be detected. By means of cyclic voltammetry and other electrochemical methods, a new viewpoint on the mechanism of the overall electrode process for guanine at a hanging mercury drop electrode in the potential range of -1.0 to +0.2 V (vs SCE), including two separate steps, has been proposed. © 1993 Academic Press.
