We investigate dynamical restoration of chiral symmetry in dense nuclear matter in the context of the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (NJL) quark dynamics. As previously in the Skyrme model, the dense environment is described in terms of hyperspherical cells of unit baryon number. A high-density phase transition to chiral restoration emerges and the density dependences of quark condensate and dynamical quark mass are very similar to those obtained in the conventional chemical-potential approach. The new approach further allows the study of baryon-density free cavities in dense matter.
