Weighted oscillator strengths are tabulated for 2745 spectral lines in Yb II. They belong to transitions between the 4f146s, 4f147s, 4f148s, 4f145d, 4f146d, 4f147d, 4f136s6p, and 4f135d6p even configurations and the 4f146p, 4f147p, 4f136s2, 4f135d6s, and 4f135d2 odd configurations in Yb II. The calculations included configuration interaction between all configurations of the same parity. Lifetimes for some low-lying levels are also given including some that decay by other than electric dipole transitions. Our results are compared where possible with laboratory determinations including those of recent measurements obtained from ion trap experiments. For the computations Slater integrals were first computed ab initio by a pseudo-relativistic Hartree-Fock method and subsequently adjusted by means of a least-squares optimization routine which minimizes the discrepancies between observed and computed levels. The resulting improvement in eigenvectors is verified through the close agreement of computed and measured Landé g values. Seven different coupling representations for eigenvectors were investigated. Published term designations are confirmed and extended. © 1991.
