The type specimen of C. dubia Dollfus, 1952 is redescribed and 4 new species of Carnoya are described. C. paradubia sp. nov. from Rhinocricus nattereri varians from Sao Sebastiao island, Brazil, most simiar to C. dubia, is distinguished from the latter by having twice as many rows of cervical spines, by the absence of interlabial formations and by the position of the phasmids in the male. C. dollfusi sp. nov. from the same host and locality as C. paradubia and most similar to C. pyramboia Artigas, 1926 is distinguished by the disposition of caudal papillae in the male and the form of the cervial spines in the female. C. martiniquensis sp. nov. from Anadenobolus politus from Martinique and C. venezuelensis sp. nov. from R. flavocinctus from Colony Tovar, Venezuela differ from all other Carnoya spp. by having broads, well-developed lips and 3 cuticular projections at the base of the buccal cavity in the male. In C. martiniquensis the 6 inner papillae in the male are located on separate swellings, 2 on the inside edge of each lip; in C. venezuelensis there is only 1 swelling per lip and each bears a pair of inner papillae. Females of the 2 spp. differ in that the vulva is ventral in C. martiniquensis but subventral in C. venezuelensis. An emended diagnosis of the genus and a key to the known species is given.
