COLLECTIVE STATES OF EVEN-EVEN NUCLEI WITH QUADRUPOLE AND OCTUPOLE DEFORMATIONS

Simple analytic expressions for the energies of even and odd rotational-vibrational bands in nuclei with quadrupole and octupole deformations are obtained. Expressions for the reduced probability B (E2) of electric quadrupole transitions between the levels of the even and odd bands and for the reduced probability B (E1) of dipole transitions between levels of opposite parity are derived. The calculated values of the level energies and of the ratio B (E1)/B(E2) are in a good agreement with the experimental data for thorium and radium isotopes.
