EDUCATIONAL-RESEARCH AND EDUCATIONAL PRACTICE - BRIDGING THE GAP

This article describes the aims of the new British education data base as it has been developed under the auspices of the University of Leeds. It assesses its utility to teacher educators and its place in information provision for teacher education. The extent to which it has met the criticisms levelled at the pre-1986 British Education Index is reviewed and its new place amongst international education data bases is outlined. © 1990, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
