HERITAGE PROCESSES AND CONSTRUCTION OF TERRITORIES

This paper was presented by the author at the Conference "Patrimoine et industrie en Poitou-Charentes: connacetre pour valoriser " in 2008. It was held in Poitiers-Chatellerault France. It peforms extensive reflection on the heritage issue, from the original forms of its contemporary production, the relationship between the private and the public, between the sacred and the profane, the material and the ideal, the process of spatial growing, the reasons for its proliferation and so on, to finish with the relationship of heritage and territory involving the social actors' role.
