CENTRALIZED ATTENDANT SERVICE

The Bell System can now meet a need expressed by many customers whose business locations are scattered over a limited geographical area, such as a city. Centralized Attendant Service (CAS) permits a group of telephone attendants at one central place to handle calls requiring attendant assistance for all the company locations. The calls are routed between the attendants and the branches over short holding time trunks called release link trunks. This arrangement of centralized attendants linked to branch locations makes the most economical use of both personnel and equipment and also allows the customer to select the best equipment combinations and features for each location.
