摘要：
Telemedical applications call for broadband multimedia communications. The availability of MANs and B-ISDN is expected to greately support telemedicine applications enabling fast medical archives transfer, efficient cooperative working of remote medical teams and telediagnosis. Some aspects of distributed medical applications, main services required for the different activities and their principal characteristics are illustrated. Main building blocks suitable for telemedicine systems and principal implementation options are analyzed, some evolutionary scenario is described, key issues to be addressed are discussed and some conclusions are drawn.
