RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN ALLOY POWDERS FOR HIGH-PERFORMANCE STRUCTURAL APPLICATIONS

P/M parts producers face constant demands from their customers to provide parts with improved properties. This, in turn, challenges the powder producers to provide powders with improved properties, from both the processing and final product standpoint. In this article, recent developments at Ametek in the areas of improved corrosion resistant stainless steels and improved mechanical properties through the use of finer powders are discussed.
