摘要
Reaction of various monoepoxides with cellulose in the presence of tertiary amines has been studied. With tertiary amines as a catalyst, at lower temperatures, epoxy compounds displayed greater reactivity than in the presence of sodium hydroxide. Qualitative and quantitative investigation of reaction mixtures epoxy compounds: tertiary amines: water by alkylation of cellulose showed that, during the reaction, quaternary ammonium base was formed. Tetraalkylammonium cellulosates further prepared in reaction mixtures are highly reactive intermediates for the preparation of cellulose ethers.
