The Researcher's Commitment, Between an Ethics of Objectivity and Subjectivity

This paper deals with the notion of commitment in discourse analysis and focuses on the need to conduct a double analysis: on the one hand, an objective/scientific analysis of intersubjectivity, and, on the other hand, a study of objectivity which takes into consideration history and the issues the emergence of concepts promotes, both at a cognitive level and at that of a clash of paradigms and positions. Finally, revisiting some personal studies on media discourses, this article argues for a reflexive, (self) controlled, critical commitment which encourages a particular ethical approach to dialogue.
