摘要
A study is made of the structure, composition, microhardness, and electrochemical-corrosion behavior of surface nitride layers (coatings) on titanium obtained by thermodiffusional saturation and condensation with ion bombardment (CIB) in 5 N H2SO4 at 50-degrees-C. It is shown that the electrochemical and corrosion behavior of titanium with a nitride coating is determined by the properties of titanium nitride and the structure of the protective layer. The corrosion resistance of titanium increases roughly two orders with the application of thermodiffusional nitride surface layers and more than three orders with the application of such layers by CIB.
