摘要
The precise radiochemical dating of numerous coral samples from the North Egyptian coast of the Red Sea gives an age range of 115 to 128 ky for the high paleo-sea-level sampled at elevations between 2 and 6 m. Therefore, this characteristic level formed during the isotopic stage 5 e constitutes a good stratigraphic mark; its elevation proves that this west coast of the Red Sea was not subject to large tectonic movements after the last interglacial period, except on the tilted blocks of Gebel Zeit and Ras Gemsah.
