摘要
Liquid-state infrared (IR) and Raman spectra and solid-state IR spectra were obtained for 2-methyl-1-pentene. Vibrational assignments were made for all four possible conformers with the aid of normal coordinate calculations. The trans-trans (TT) and trans-gauche (TG) conformers were both found to be present in the unannealed solid, but only the TT conformer was present in the annealed (crystalline) solid. Evidence for the presence of GT and GG conformers in the liquid state was found, in agreement with previous work. The spectra and results of the calculations are given in this paper.
