Identities Construction in the Chat: a Multimodal Vision

The purpose of this article is to reflect on the emerging forms of communication, starting on the chat format, given that it configures spaces and languages with multiple meanings, that give way to new realities, and thus other symbolic manifestations that constitute a recent view of communication, society, the body, the identity, and the construction of new subjects and subjectivities that are created and recreated from the 2.0 web. The reflections and contributions of this work are product of a deep and exhaustive revision about the actual state of the topic. From the investigation as gender of speech-structure, system, function-, until the articulation of images and audiovisual, referring to identity, body and virtuality. Be this an opportunity to re-feed, by communication, technologies and socio-semiotic the relation between education, society and culture.
