摘要
The article analyzes selected factors dealing with the entrance of the Slovak Republic into the European Union. It identifies the motivation of both sides for speeding this process, as well as problems and obligations which the process entails. The author maintains that even though the asymetry of this relationship is clear, European Union is aware of the high degree of interdependence between the two groups of countries. Important priority is given to the analysis of motivations, their worth and accomplishment. The second part is devoted to the examination of the state concerning mutual aspects of international business, its territorial and productive structure. From this it can be concluded that the mutual business relations reflect the inner Opportunities of the various economies, and on account of current asymetry, these opportunities are inadequately used. It is expected that one change in the transformation process of the Slovak Republic (on the basis of its comparative advantage) ought to be the increase of export within the realm of increased mutual diversification. It has been estimated, that one of the important elements between European Union and the Slovak Republic, is the European Agreement. In spite of the fact that questions concerning the entrance of the Slovak Republic and the Central and Eastern Europe (from the perspective of the European Union's ambitions) are often considered secondary, the situation nevertheless is creating important supportive environment for transformation process.
