TEMPERATURE-DEPENDENCE OF THERMOPOWER IN NONMAGNETIC METALLIC GLASSES

摘要
The thermopower S was investigated systematically in the temperature range 13-300 K for a total of 65 non-magnetic metallic glasses. An enhancement in S at low temperatures was observed for most of the alloys. The enhancement parameter lambda deduced from the thermopower measurements is found to agree with the electron-phonon coupling constant lambda(M) obtained from McMillan's equation, though the value of lambda is slightly larger than lambda(M). The present results provide unambiguous evidence that the low-temperature enhancement of the thermopower in non-magnetic metallic glasses originates from electron-phonon renormalization effects.
