摘要
A brief overview of the currently used methods of solid municipal waste (SMW) disposal is given. The authors propose a novel technology of SMW high-temperature incineration in a bubbled slag melt, which can also be used for incinerating industrial waste. The proposed method is characterized by a number of advantages over existing ones: it does not require any preliminary preparation of raw materials; it is ecologically cleaner than other methods as to the contents of such polluting gaseous compounds as sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxide, etc. Besides, it yields recovery of such marketable by-products as metals, granulated slag, carbon dioxide (to be used as a coolant) and ensures practically residue-free operation.
