There being little skeletal stability, the shoulder joint must have a complex soft tissue anatomy in order to achieve sufficient stability in addition to good range of motion. The intra-articular vacuum provides some support for the joint structures in this function. Kinematic results obtained using a new spatial measuring systems (magnetic field system) have again quantified the clinical value of this vacuum phenomenon.
