SYNCHROTRON RADIATION LOSS IN A TOKAMAK REACTOR IN THE PRESENCE OF AN ENHANCED ELECTRON TAIL

摘要
The role of an enhanced electron tail on the emission and absorption of synchrotron radiation in a tokamak reactor is investigated. It is shown that the radiofrequency power loss at omega much greater than omega(c) in a Maxwellian plasma is radiated by electrons with velocities significantly higher than the thermal velocity. Therefore, the synchrotron radiation loss will be enhanced when the tail distribution develops a superthermal feature. The enhanced loss with respect to Trubnikov's result has been computed for a homogeneous plasma.
