摘要
For almost five years, five-a-side football has been establishing itself as one of the most prominent activities in the physical and sports landscape. By introducing numerous innovations, this specific variation of the game of football has quickly managed to create a form of sports consumption which runs parallel to federal provision. That said, this product remains exposed to fluctuations that punctuate its development, thus defining its life-cycle. According to the product life-cycle theory, after their market introduction (introduction phase), products grow (growth phase) until they reach their full potential (maturity phase) before progressively declining (decline phase). The study of the life-cycle of five-a-side football allows us to highlight the measures implemented by leisure sport actors in their attempts to avoid the obsolescence identified in this theory.
