摘要
In a field study made during 1983-85, it was found that cross row (22.5 x 22.5 cm) planting gave significantly higher yield attributes, grain, straw and monetary benefits, as compared to other methods of planting. Closer (15.0 cm) and cross row planting showed an appreciable smothering effect on associated weeds and recorded lower weed dry matter. Application of seed and fertilizer at lower rate (75% of the recommended) showed heavier weed growth, consequently lesser number of effective tillers/m2, grains/spike and significantly lower grain and straw yields.
