摘要
The developed turbulence in Ekman layer affects atmospheric flows in two ways: it essentially modifies the beta-effect and leads to the quadratic (in velocity) surface drag. Equations governing the global atmospheric dynamics are obtained which account for the turbulent planetary boundary layer. The effect of new nonlinear terms on the linear stability of zonal atmospheric flows is discussed and found to be essential.
