摘要
Background. The choice of each specialization by a young medical doctor depends on many factors. Objectives. The aim of this work is to identify the main reasons influencing the choice of specialization in family medicine by students of the sixth year. Material and methods. The paper presents the results of a survey conducted among the students of the Faculty of Medicine, Medical University of Lublin. Results. Before the course in family medicine choice of specialization in family medicine was declared by 5.8% of respondents, while at the end of the course in family medicine, this percentage increased to 14.2%. Conclusions. The choice of specialization in family medicine is influenced by the most convenient working hours and a variety of patients. Most excess office work discourages doctors to choose this specialization.
